What to do at Disney - Drew and Libby's suggestions

Click here to listen to Drew talk about what he suggests you do when you're in Disney!

Click here to listen to Drew talk about what they are doing on their trip this year.

What they're doing this time:

(1)  We have booked a boat cruise for the Illuminations firework show.  It is extra cost but you get to watch the fireworks from the water.  You have to book this 90 days out because they only have a few boats and they book immediately.

(2)  The new "feature" this year is the Kim Possible interactive game at Epcot.  You pick up a Kim Possible cell phone and it gives you clues throughout the day and you walk around the countries and solve the puzzles.  In the process you'll get to see little things you may never have noticed about Epcot.

(3)  Libby downloaded the Iphone App that gives Disney line wait times.  It is free and basically people in the park update the app and say how long it took them to get to the front of the line.  The benefit for you is knowing how long the lines are without walking all the way across the park to find out...really helps plan your day in the park.

What Drew and Libby suggest:

(1)  I recommend dinner at the 50's Primetime Cafe.  We've laughed and talked about this more than any place we've eaten.  The theme is your Aunt's kitchen in the 1950's and the server is your old Auntie.  She will yell at you and not bring your food out if you act up or have poor table manners.  If your server is good (ours was) it is a wonderful experience!

(2)  Also, if you go to Disney often or maybe you just aren't a roller coaster kind of person, try something outside the park.
(a)This year I'm playing golf (Disney is a top 75 Golf Resort in the country).

(b)Previously, we've gone scuba diving in the Living Seas aquarium.  You dive with sharks, they have great
equipment and best of all, the people in the aquarium can sea you through the glass.  You become part of the
                                     attraction.

                                    (c) If you feel the need for speed, how about the Richard Petty Driving Experience.  You behind the wheel of a
Nascar taking turns at 150 mph.

                                    (d) Hang ten and learn to surf, all while at Disney World.  You can take surfing lessons at Disney's Typhoon
Lagoon and learn in the safety of one of the world's largest wave pools.

There is plenty more and not everything is for everyone.  If there is something you do when you go, let me know.  We'll be back and we're always looking for more things to do.
